Originally a teacher of English, now I work as a free-lance costume-maker and fashion & textiles tutor.

My interests besides period costumes are ethnic clothing, textiles and handicrafts.

Freeform crochet and knitting is my hobby. The beauty of crochet is that it cannot be mass-produced for the fashion industry and it will always retain its individuality. It is very versatile ranging from traditional doilies through Irish crochet to sculptural crochet.

I make freeform accessories and garments and contribute to exhibitions. I am a member of the International Freeform Crochet Guild.

I am a free-lance costume-maker with over 15 years' experience in dressmaking, trained in period costumes, corsetry and underpinnings. My portfolio includes period, re-enactment and children's dressing-up costumes as well as headdresses, masks and other accessories.

I have worked for the Unity and Everyman/Playhouse Theatres and the Museums of Liverpool.
